***SOLD*** Gorgeous Georgian… Cabochon Garnet ring

$0.00

Item Number: 98

Description

This is a truly lovely late Georgian (1830s) foil backed enamel garnet ring.

As the back of the stone was encased in 18 carat gold – the jeweler at the time placed a piece of foil behind it to reflect fire and light. The effect is quite stunning – as you can see.

It was a memorial or mourning ring but the inscription has sadly been removed some time ago. The black enamel and the gold carving work are in near perfect condition.

It is one of our oldest rings, but it has an extremely contemporary look on the finger.

As an online store we don’t have sky-high city rent so we pass the savings on to you – the customer.
